Support Together Southend

  • Founded a mental health peer support group and recruited other volunteers.
  • Organise and plan monthly meetings that take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month 7pm to 9pm..
  • Setup Mailchimp to send and create newsletter emails to members.
  • Answer the group phone and send text message reminders.
  • Manage group finances as Treasurer including banking, budgeting, filing annual returns and purchases.
  • Promoted group locally online using my Photoshop skills, via posters, leaflets and Group Facebook page.
  • Wrote a grant application in September 2018 which successfully raised £320 for 2019.
  • Organised Post Christmas 2018 Social & Raffle including sourcing prizes and party food.
  • Instigated a Time to Talk Day event on February 7th.
  • Co-produced with the group a schedule and sourcing equipment for the group to begin ‘active’ activities in Rounders, Ping Pong, Cycling, Circuit Training and Walking from March 2019. We eventually settled on a permanent schedule of ‘Ping Pong & Games’ on the last Saturday of each month 12pm to 2pm from September 2019.
  • Ran the Manchester Marathon (26.2 miles) on the 7th April 2019 raising in the region of £500.
  • Ran the Chelmsford Marathon (26.2 miles) on the 20th October and the Southend Pier Marathon (26.2 miles) on the 27th October 2019 as part of my fundraising journey for the Ultra Marathon in May 2020.
