Welcome to my personal website. I have had a lifetime interest with technology from when I was given my first Windows PC in 1996 as a child to graduating with a 2:1 BSc (Hons.) degree in Computer Science 2006. It wasn’t until I was diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum in 2019 that I finally understood that individuals on the spectrum had a more systematic way of thinking. Systematic thinking can help individuals excel at STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
However, it’s been a long journey to understand my mental health challenges and despite so much stigma I am still growing as an individual. In 2017, I setup a Peer Support group in Southend and ran 3 Marathons to fundraise culminating in me being awarded Rethink Member of the year in 2019. In September of that year, I began studying part time a MSc in Mental Health Recovery and Social Inclusion at the University of Hertfordshire. I finished the first year with Distinction.
Upon taking a break from my studies in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, I founded Dev Mindset on a part time basis, with a mission to develop websites and mobile apps that support those with mental health challenges and Autism like myself. My first smartphone App, NeuroSchemas for IOS and Android was released in June 2021 targeted at assisting those who identify under the Neurodiversity paradigm (which includes myself!).
I can provide advice on using social media, email (such as Mailchimp) and content to increase awareness of your organisation. Including how to use Facebook and Twitter ads. Additionally, I can integrate technology solutions that help automate the management and sending of mass email.
I have skills in original logo design and integrating existing designs into new websites and apps. Using and modifying stock images to create new professional images that fit with your brand.
Past experience building websites in PHP and WordPress. Developed a mobile app in React Native for Android and IOS in 2021 plus its website in React Native for Web using Firebase as a backend. As well as setting up and configuring Ubuntu web servers running Nginx, PHP and MySQL.
