Welcome to my personal website. I have had a lifetime interest with computers from when I was given my first Windows PC in 1996 as a child to graduating with a 2:1 BSc (Hons.) degree in Computer Science 2006. It’s well established in the research that those on the Autism spectrum tend to excel in the technical fields. Having been diagnosed late with Autism in 2019 myself it’s fair to say that is true for me too.
I’m passionate about people like myself with mental health challenges and autism living a life as well as possible. In 2017, I setup a Peer Support group in Southend-on-sea and ran 3 Marathons to fundraise culminating in me being awarded Rethink Member of the year in 2019. In September of that year, I began studying part time a MSc in Mental Health Recovery and Social Inclusion at the University of Hertfordshire. I finished the first year with Distinction.
Now on a gap year from my studies, my next project is to start-up Dev Mindset (a community interest company) on a part time basis, that develops ethical technology solutions for organisations and supports mental health and autism community projects. Therefore at some point in the future, Dev Mindset plans to launch Peer Mindset a UK digital mental health co-operative.
I can provide advice on using social media, email and content to increase awareness of your organisation. Additionally, I can integrate technology solutions that make the process smoother.
I have skills in original logo design and integrating existing designs into new websites and apps. Using and modifying stock images to meet an ideal finish.
I have experience in developing websites in PHP (WordPress & Laravel) and mobile apps (Android and Apple). As well as setting up and configuring Linux web servers running Nginx,HTTPS, PHP and MySQL.
